One Word Review: Morningstar Bacon Strips

Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

I am appalled at the audacity of Morningstar Farms to actually put the word “bacon” on this box. This tasted like a paper bookmark with a hint of salt. The only word that I could think of was how fake this tasted.

For an additional video showing what this travesty did to the plate I cooked it on, join the Freezerburns Facebook group.

You should have just put like no stars. And it sounded so… crispy. Just wrong.

totally agree. it barely deserved a half star. but unfortunately a no star rating wouldnt have ranked it at all.

Long ago I also, regretfully, purchased a box of Morningstar Bacon. My dog’s “Beggin’ Strips” actually smell better than this dreadful veggie alternative.

I’d go so far as to say that, if stuck in a panic room with only Morningstar bacon and doggie bacon strips, I would consume the latter.

Plus you can buy generic bacon dog treats for $1/bag! That’s 4x cheaper, with 8x the quantity, for a better-tasting bacon surrogate. Half star, indeed!

Maybe if you dipped them in baconnaise, you could choke them down? http://www.baconnaise.com/

Kerry, I would never do that to such a sweet nectar of the gods like Baconnaise. That’s like dipping a paint stirrer stick in Nutella. This was that bad and Baconnaise is that important to me.

The Morning Star Farm mini corn dogs aren’t too bad for fake meat. You should try those.

I LOVE them! But I've been a vegetarian for 5 years and I just started eating them so… maybe I've forgotten the real thing?
