I have always fallen in the camp of the those who “get” warm fruit with meat. But that’s not for everyone. So when fan Steven from the Freezerburns Facebook group requested a Fruit Inspiration meal from Smart Ones, I was happy to oblige. The one I chose had a ton of different flavors all mixed into one: we had Mango. We had Honey. We had Barbecue. We had it all and I was ready for inspiration. yes, the orzo incident. ya know, if I had left that on my chin you, the viewer wouldn’t have been able to concentrate on what I was saying. I needed to take care of that right away.

My comfort zone with warm fruit and meat usually ends with pineapple on ham or pizza. Then again, I recently had a panini with apple slices and that was good. Perhaps this can be my inspiration to experiment more in paring fruits with items of a meaty persuasion.
