Episode 63: Frosty Paws and Cool Claws Frozen Pet Food

Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

Maybe it was some strange childhood emotionally traumatic event that causes me to not step down from a challenge. That personality flaw typically gets me into a ton of trouble and I am sad to say, this is no exception.

So when a fan of Freezerburns asked me why I didn’t test out the Frosty Paws frozen ice cream treat for dogs, I couldn’t let my common sense prevail and say “no way.” Instead I said, “ok” and as you can see, it didn’t turn out good.

This was the dumbest idea the Frozen Food Master has ever had.

FreezerBurnsTM is a video review show on a mission to deliver you real reviews and real answers to one of life’s most stressful decisions: choosing the best frozen foods on the planet. Greg is the Frozen Food MasterTM and acts as both food critic and guinea pig. Join him every tuesday and friday as he eats his way through the freezer aisle one box at a time, only on Hungry Nation.

I don’t know why you even did it, but I guess some people like eating dog/cat food.

At least you got that frozen food tasted and out of the way.

Haha, I love it! I can’t believe there is actually a market for these. Oddly enough I’m now going to see if my local store has these so I can treat my pup!

Now that you mention your flow….I officially challenge you to the Belly Buster:

First, LOVED the Hoodsie shout-out (I am SO rawkin’ the Hoodsies right now – got a dozen in the freezer!)

Second, that was honest-to-goodness laugh-out-loud funny! And it just goes to show your fans how dedicated you are to eating your way through the frozen food aisle, one box at a time!

That is some serious dedication, my friend! Bravo!!!

First time viewer. Absolutely hysterical. One question – if these are the worst things you’ve ever tasted, why did you give them a 1/2 star? I cringe to think what it would take to get 0 stars!

22 | Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

March 7th, 2009 at 5:35 pm

Avatar

Walter, thanks for the comment! Glad you liked the show. Your question is totally valid and it has a somewhat weird explanation. For some reason I feel giving a product a 1/2 star versus no stars is worse. Its like how leaving a penny for a tip versus no tip at all when you have bad service stings a little more.

In the end I decided to not assign a rating for these products as they arent intended for humans. I guess that doesnt say alot for the actual human products that I have given 1/2 stars to!

Thanks again for watching and I hope to see you again at Freezerburns!

Darn funny Greg. You needed a dog/cat to cross-correlate to their actual target populations, but you get an ‘A’ for effort actually going through with it.

You know, you wouldn`t think they would be so bad……I guess its no wonder why my dog loves people food so much.
I have known people who have eaten dog food for a paper they wrote . They did not say it was good.
I saw an old woman in the store with alot of Alpo(on sale) and she said she didn`t have a dog.

My dog loves, loves, loves Frosty Paws. It's a real treat for her. She is a 15lb Dachshund. I take one of the cups and let her lick about 1/3 of it. Then I put it back in the freezer for another time. Each cup equals 3 treats for her. I try to watch her weight and don't give her too many treats but Frosty Paws are her most special treat. My moms 3 dogs love Frosty Paws too. I can't review it because I'm not as brave as Greg but my dog and my moms dogs would give it a 5 star for sure. It's a wiener in our house.
