Episode 91: Stouffer’s Italian-Style Supreme Stromboli

Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

I have been seeing these things all over the place lately. People loading up their shopping carts with them and people bringing them into work for lunch. So you know the Frozen Food Master had to try it for himself. This Stouffer’s Italian-Style Supreme Stromboli is packed full of ingredients and then topped full of a bunch of spices and birdseed like adornments. But how does it taste?

FreezerBurnsTM is a video review show on a mission to deliver you real reviews and real answers to one of life’s most stressful decisions: choosing the best frozen foods on the planet. Greg is the Frozen Food MasterTM and acts as both food critic and guinea pig. Join him every tuesday and friday as he eats his way through the freezer aisle one box at a time, only on Hungry Nation.

Love the show. I just made a late night frozen food run to the store and stocked up on some things you said were good. NC in the house

Haha, this made me laugh. Too bad…that it was spotty on “juiciness”, it’s unfortunate that you have to susecpt your stomach to these abominations of cuisine. Check out our Super Stromboli pie:

How about this quote:
“In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns. ”

I actually cheated…..believe it or not I’ve never seen any of them….not sure if I should’ve revealed that….’cause I doubt I ever will watch them. I’m more of a comedy or documentary guy…not into the dramas.

I loved the LOTR reference (I’m a huge fan of all of them), have you seen this?!?

I had the chicken version of this, not bad..but for the calories, I’d go with something more substantial. I didn’t have the dryness issue, but then I always microwave things a little less than what the directions say. Maybe your box malfunction caused the issue?

@Meg I don’t think the box malfunction was a big deal, but less time in the microwave probably would help. But I can see how Greg is, he wants to keep things consistent to the directions on the box for the first time and i guess its trial and error from that point on.
It kinda looks like a gourmet hot pocket :-)

I think those are probably made by the same people who make the Hot Pocket Calzone.

You should have tried the chicken one,I did.It was pretty dry through and through, and the chicken was just hard! And at 3.29 a piece it was a rip-off better off getting some hot pockets at least you know what to expect.Little disappointed that you would give it 3 stars I mean I know it’s stouffers but, they really messed up this time.

Terrible. I bought 5 on a deal at the store and couldn't finish it TWICE. I gave it a second chance only because they were still in the freezer. AWFUL!!!!
