Stouffer’s Corner Bistro Chicken Asiago Panini
Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

In a word: Amazing. This selection from the new Corner Bistro line from Stouffer’s is one of the best meals I have eaten out of microwave in quite a while. But it isn’t without some flaws.
Let’s first start with the specs: The Stouffer’s Corner Bistro Chicken Asiago Panini is made up of grilled white meat chicken with sun dried tomatoes and spinach in a creamy Asiago cheese sauce on wheat bread.
It is chock full of quality ingredients and an amazing concoction of flavors that was so satisfying in my mouth that I contemplated going home early for some private time with my new tasty friend. The chicken was quality. The sun dried tomatoes added a burst of sweet flavor that highlighted the saltiness of the asiago cheese sauce. The wheat bread had a buttery finish that made it taste like I was consuming a well-made sandwich from 2 pieces of garlic bread.

I was so taken by the presentation, the smell, and then the taste that I forgot to put the 2 sides together and make a sandwich. Instead, I ate it like 2 pieces of bruschetta.
But as I mentioned, it isn’t without some flaws. This was advertised as a panini that “Grills in the Microwave” but after cooking this item fully, there was not a grill mark in sight. Don’t get me wrong, it was cooked through and I am convinced that had I cooked it for longer than directed, the grill marks would have appeared but the insides would have been dried out. In the end, the bread was crisp but not perfect.
