Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken
Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

Well, it took me 6 different Lean Cuisine meals to find this one and I don’t think any will ever compare now. I have been sludging through a warehouse club Lean Cuisine multi-pack and then today I tasted this.
This Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken meal I must say is THE BEST LEAN CUISINE MEAL ON THE MARKET. There, I said it. Listen to how good this sounds: “Sesame breaded chicken tenderloins with pasta green beans & red peppers.” Sure marketing speak can make it sound like you are dining in a 5 Star restaurant but this time it delivers!

The chicken has a perfectly spiced sauce and ample breading to make me feel like this was bad for me. But at only 330 calories and 9g of fat, it isn’t. The pasta was a sort of angel hair shape with beans and peppers sprinkled in for color. I stirred up the pasta so that the sauce coated every noodle and it was a truly stellar experience.
If Lean Cuisine sold bulk packs of just this variety, I would be eating this every day for the rest of my life.

Wowwaaahhweewahh…if it’s that good (everyday for the rest of your life), how come it’s not 5 stars?
That brings up a good question….if you had to eat one thing every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? I’d probably go with oatmeal…or cereal (too broad), maybe PB&J sangwiches….or Taco Bell bean burrito (extra cheese, extra onions & tons o’ Fire sauce!)

Bear, if you ate a Taco Bell Bean Burrito every day for the rest of your life, you won’t have any friends…except the dog. Everyone always “blames” the dog, if you get my drift.

@Bear that is a very valid question. It did not get 5 stars in my book because it was not truly groundbreaking. It IS THE BEST Lean Cuisine meal I have ever tasted and I would eat it every day for lunch because I would feel like it was exciting enough to keep me interested day in and day out AND I would be eating something less in Fat and Calories.
To answer your question: if it is something that I had to eat everyday and every meal for the rest of my life it would be a Belly Buster from Pizza Party of course. No seriously, it would be pizza. Now if it was a a dish that I had to eat atleast once per day for the rest of my life it would be my favorite sandwich: a Grilled cheese sandwich with tuna and bacon.
Remember that as it WILL be a trivia question that will win someone a prize in the future.

@Meg – haha, true.
@Greg – Ah, hah, makes sense.
Maybe my mother’s roasted roma tomato spaghetti

@bear: Tuna salad (tuna with mayo and no celery/carrots/gourmet stuff). It goes buttered bread both sides. grill. Then put grilled side on inside, spread tuna salad, 2 pieces thick cut cheddar cheese and 4-12 pieces of bacon, grill both sides again.
As for last meal…I have thought about this: The now retired Mile Hile Meatloaf Sandwich from the Cheesecake Factory, a can of Vernor’s Ginger Ale, a can of Virgil’s Root Beer, and the now retired Blueberry pie alamode from Bennigans.

Hey Greg, off topic, but what kind of Freezer do you have? I’m envisioning a big ol’ walkin Viking? Maybe you should solicit freezer manufacturers for a “Freezer Fro down”… after all the freezer functionality and reliability plays a big role in the quality of the frozen foods before you nuke’em.

Meg, the freezer in my kitchen is a Jennair Fridge with drawer freezer. I also have a Frigidaire stand up freezer in my garage. There is video of that freezer on the Fans of Freezerburns Facebook group

I had to comment. Try the Lean Cuisine Chicken with Basil Creme Sauce. That is the best lean cuisine in the market. No lie.
