Sweet and asian. I’d like to think that’s what people say about me! I have made no secrets about how I feel about the new Healthy Choice varieties. To date they have all been inventive, engaging, and delicious. But would this Healthy Choice Sweet Asian Potstickers meal follow suit?

The box highlights a few notable items that you may wan to know about. It’s All natural with “real food, no preservatives”. It also is made with whole grains and sesame oil. The sweet asian potstickers meal also has vegetables on a bed of whole grain rice and sweet asian style sauce. That’s what they say on the box.

Here’s what I have to say:
First off, the box is misleading. Although it does contain all that is mentioned on the ingredient list, it is far from looking like someone carefully positioned them on the plastic tray. Instead it was a sloppy mess of rice, sauce, and potstickers. In fact, as you can see in the picture, the potstickers were tar and feathered with the sweet asian style sauce and rice.

As for the taste, it was an enjoyable experience with a nice tangy sweet (with a slight kick) to the sauce, soft but structurally rigid potstickers with a veggie filling that was satisfying.  But in the end it felt a little bit heavier than I was expecting. This was due to the clumpiness in consistency not the actual ingredients themselves.

In the end, I would pick this out again to bring to lunch but it didn’t have the “wow” power that some of its counterparts had.
