I was shopping the other day and saw that the healthy choice meals were on sale for $2.00 this week. I was really craving another box of the pumpkin ravioli, except my store does not have a great selection, so i opted for the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Grilled Chicken Marinara.

For reference, the box describes it as “juicy chicken tenderloin, penne pasta, and broccoli florets in a zesty marinara sauce” I still love the steamer bowl idea that HC has going on and it definitely kept the broccoli nice and fresh and crispy. The chicken pieces were good sized, tasted good, and were juicy. The pasta was fine, but the sauce was not great. I thought it was on the thin side and by no means zesty. Overall I thought it tasted ok, kind of what I would expect to get a fastfood or chain italian restaurant. Not great, but not terrible and did the trick for lunch. I would not buy it at full price, and at $2 I would probably try something else first.

Bear, I completely agree with you. Compared to the other brands you can get at this price, it was good, but compared to some of the other HC products I have had, I would give it a pass or try something else, everything was $2 this week.
  • Matt...seriously at $2.00 you can't go wrong. That's what I call a recession meal. I always wonder to myself what something like this would cost you to actually go out and buy all the ingredients, prep them and cook them (time and money-wise). You can't even get more food at Taco Bell for $2.00!
