Cook in 400 degree oven for 10-14 min

I’ve never had Whole Food’s house brand before, but when I saw this pizza I was intrigued. The box says there is white meat chicken, peppers, corn, black beans and three kinds of cheese (jalapeno jack/mozzarella and cheddar).

Smell: You can pick up the corn and black beans, plus some mexican seasoning.
Looks: Lots of chicken chunks, corn and cheese. A little light on the red peppers and beans. There is cilantro on one third of the pizza…again the cilantro dispenser must have been off.

Taste: Very flavorful at first, but then I got hit with a salty afterglow. There is tons of cheese, so perhaps that is where the salt is coming from. The chicken chunks are very moist. There is definately a mexican flavor to this pizza and when you bite into the section of pizza that does have cilantro it is very fresh tasting. There isn’t as much corn or black bean flavor as I would have expected. What is surprising, though is the crust. This is what I consider a thin crust and is is very crispy on the outside, yet tender in the middle.

All in all, this is not a bad pizza, but too me it was just a little too salty. Mexicans have great spices, I would have like to see more spice and less salty taste. I got a little adventurous with this pizza, but probably wouldn’t buy it again.

  • I would think it would be a lot better than it was. Too bad. Too salty, huh? I would try this with some salsa...mmmmmm, that might be really good. I think I see a new special going up on the board at work :)
