My favorite thing about Alaska is Adak. Nothing more fun than spending half a week exploring an abandoned former Navy base, while wondering whether your flight out will actually manage to land! :)

Baked Alaska was the first thing that came to mind for me too (and its variation, "Bombe Alaska", is even better)... however, I somehow doubt that it actually comes from Alaska. Oh, well. :)

I've never actually been to Alaska myself, but would love to visit someday; I have a friend who used to live there, and two other acquaintances of mine have visited there as well. From what I hear from them (and the pictures I've seen), it's a beautiful place. I wouldn't want to live there (far too cold for me), but it would certainly be fun to visit.

On the subject of this review... I have reservations about the potential quality of microwaved frozen fish in general, although it doesn't sound like this one was *awful*. I can see how it would be an easy, convenient meal for one person, but not so much if you were trying to feed two or more; then it seems like it would be wasteful in terms of the time it would take to cook each one individually, not to mention the packaging and the price... the convenience factor would definitely be lost there.

I know I wouldn't ever buy this particular product myself; I hate salmon (I had an unfortunate experience years ago, when I was served some bad salmon at a restaurant; I haven't been able to go near the stuff ever since). I might consider trying one of the many other varieties of Ocean Beauty seafood products sometime... anything but salmon...if I'm looking for something fast and convenient and happen to come across them, since it sounds like the quality is decent. Still, I doubt I would ever go out of my way to seek out these products.
