Episode 224: One Word Review Amy’s Organic Chocolate Cake

Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master

On one hand Amy’s Organic offerings have been hit or miss for the Frozen Food Master. On the other hand it is chocolate cake for crying out loud. I don’t care if the cake was made with concrete or cocoa, if it is called chocolate cake and it is cut up in a slice, I want it in my belly.

This Amy’s Organic Chocolate Cake comes in a banana bread sized loaf and wrapped in plastic to lock in freshness in addition to all its vegan, non-dairy, USDA organic, no GMOs bad self. But you have to hear how it tastes.

After you watch the video, go to the bottom of this entry for more description.

This “cake” was more a dessert loaf or breakfast loaf than a cake. Especially if you are the type of person that has no issue with eating a chocolate muffin for breakfast this may be for you. Slice it up, toast it, and put some cream cheese on top and you have an amazing experience.

But even if you decide to eat it au natural, it is sweet enough and as you can tell from the one word description, moist enough.

You gotta love anything chocolaty AND moist! I personally love a good Brownie.
Love the review, only problem here is, I was expecting a full video review :( there’s no mention of the ‘One Word Review’ in the title.
Other than that, awesome :D

Love your reviews!!

Gotta say though, I find moist to be the most disgusting word in the English language when not applied to baked goods.

I’ve been eyeing this product in the freezer aisle of my local SuperTarget for a while now, but haven’t actually picked it up yet.

It *looks* good, but in the past I have been disappointed by Amy’s products… Every. Single. Time. I have never found an Amy’s product that I liked, as much as I *wanted* to like them. (Note: their Roasted Vegetable pizza is AWFUL.) And the prices of Amy’s products are a little steep for taking any more chances…

Sounds like this cake was decent… not earth-shatteringly good, but at least decent. Not sure if that’s enough to make me want to run out and buy it, though.

I have to agree with AJ, moist isn’t the most popular word in the world. But I agree with you more, moist should always be the first word one thinks of when eating cake.

You cannot lose with Amy's soups and burritos. The other frozen entrees are not good in my opinion, but I love everything else.
