Episode 248: Marie Callender’s Pumpkin Pie
Posted by: Gregory Ng: The Frozen Food Master
It’s a special Halloween Episode at Freezerburns and the Frozen Food Master is in costume!
It wasn’t too long ago when the Frozen Food Master completed a week of frozen pie frodowns. I told myself, I would stay away form the pies for awhile. But once the leaves began to fall and the football games began, I had a crazy craving for some pumpkin pie. Marie Callender did not let me down with her apple pie so I figured she could cure my pumpkin pie craving with the Marie Callender’s Pumpkin Pie. But will the pie be good enough to overcome the 3g of trans fat? The Frozen Food Master will tell you.

You are way too funny! Great costume, you were right I didn’t guess it, although didn’t someone guess Hot Pocket? Was it Ryan? Marvo? Anyway they were half right lol.
So what did Mrs. FFM and the Ng clan say about it? lol
My favorite thing about halloween is the fun baking! I would say it’s dressing up but I haven’t done that since I was a kid, although I guess I will be doing it again in a few years now

I’m sick of “homemade” everything. that companies try to make their products seem homemade. think about it. why would they want their product to look or taste less professional?
thank you for the entertaining review

Awesome costume;
I’m going to dress up as Buzz Lightyear!
I Love Homemade stuff, as long as I’ve actually made it in my home, anything commerially ‘homemade’ should just shutup, it’s not homemeade, unless it’s my Mum’s Chocolate Cookies.

Great costume!
I’ve got to try that pumpkin pie sometime. My favorite things about Halloween are apple cider donuts and all of the decorations.

We cooked this TWICE and it was still a soggy, oozing mess-something was definately wrong with it. And we did follow the directions precisely and our oven works right..

“Real” pumpkin pie is dense. It is pumpkin *custard* pie, such as Mrs. Smiths, that's lighter. Anyhow, I made this for Christmas dinner. It turned out perfect. No oozing whatsoever. But I cooked it about 10 mins longer. Ooozing usually means it's undercooked. Since oven vary, cooking it perfectly by the directions could still result in it being undercooked. Overall, I found this pie too sweet. Texture and crust were perfect.
