dam that looks like an april fool joke, where u get these from? “allow to set”, maybe its gets harder, i mean crisper.. my fav wrapper is Only Won, the Asian Jay-z

  • CessCJ

That looked awful! Another item I will not be trying.

    My favorite rapper is Eminem.

i would NOT call that the size of a large frozen burrito. also you gave this product a lot of negativity. i think it looks like a big pig in a blanket but you made it seem like it was a gigantic vat of boiling poison and pizza grease.

    thanks for this entertaining review

  • freezerburns

Yeah, it got a lot of negativity because it deserved it! And I have high expectations when it comes to sausage. So bad.

After you mentioned porn, I noticed that there was a little bit of cheese “oozing” from the end you were NOT taking a bite from…well you get my drift. But I did think “How appropriate”
Anyway, I don't like rap at all, so no favorites.

  • Echo710

Ugh, it's like the mutant offspring of a hot dog and a frozen burrito (neither of which is something I like)… no thanks! And not at all what I would expect to get from a product labeled “smoked sausage”.

That “cheese-like substance” that sort of oozed out of there when you bit into it looked especially off-putting; stuffing any kind of cheese directly INTO a sausage product never seems to turn out well. Still, regardless of the filling, there didn't appear to be *anything* redeemable about this product… just generally awful all around. Yuck! Sorry you put yourself through that, Greg.

Maybe they meant “allow to SIT”, rather than “set”? Otherwise… no idea what it's supposed to mean.

No favorite rappers (or even favorite “wrappers” that I can think of at the moment); sorry!

  • Echo710

You mean it wasn't *actually* a gigantic vat of boiling poison and grease? I could have sworn it was! ;)

Rage against the machine is metal rap. So yeah them…

Have you ever gone to a sams club? If so, do not get their generic brand sausage rolls. Most glassy dough and plastic sausage ever.

  • ALRUI

I saw these at the store the other day & was shocked at the price, the “Bob Evans” regular meat case products generally are lousy & by your review I know I wont waste my money on these. Better to make some “pigs in a blanket” at home:-)

  • alrui

Excellent attention to detail Meg – I LOVE it:-)

When they say set they probably mean rest. Set kind of makes sense in that like many breads the inner structure doesn't become stable right away. The starches need a short time to gather themselves instead of being lava.

  • Isolder74

I think I'd like to add that considering the price of both a pack of hotdogs and a Pillsbury pack of Croissant rolls that you can make this better yourself and while not faster will taste much better. Not only that you can use a much better sausage as well.

  • freezerburns

Makes perfect sense. No doubt not too many people would know that.

  • Isolder74

It's the same reason that you need to let a pizza sit or a brand new loaf of bread before you eat it. If you don't wait and you try to cut into the bread the moment you pull it out of the oven you will notice that you end up squashing it. It is sort of the big torture of making homemade bread is having to stare at it mouth watering for 5 – 10 minutes before you can cut yourself a piece for the best taste and flavor. I can imagine that in the microwave that the inner dough would end up with more steam then oven cooking because of how a mw cooks by vibrating the water molecules turn them into steam which then condenses inside the dough making resting more needed as you have to let that steam escape.

As for set, I agree they mean rest, but not due to the bread, and starch. The sausage has a high fat content, which means it has has a high juice content. I think you need to let it set (rest) to allow the juices to re-distribute, so when you bite into it, you dont get a hot juicy explosion in your mouth.

  • JTalbert

You need to to better with screen shots for the beginning of your shows, you look like you just knocked off a 12 pack of beer or stoned in that picture.

    Great show!

  • JTalbert

Ahh interesting, I learned something new.

  • Isolder74

It's a little bit of both to tell you the truth. More so with cooking it in the microwave then in the oven as the Microwave heats the food using the water inside of it instead of the hot air on the outside. Also the oven is a dry method and hot steam is allowed to escape where the microwave tends to heat faster and more internally resulting in higher levels of hot steam inside the food. Also Microwave vibrate all polar and asymmetrical molecules and that includes most fats making a sausage heat more in the microwave then the bread does. So resting lets that steam escape and the oils cool before you eat it. Oils cool faster then water does which is why if you eat a pizza too soon the sauce burns your mouth. The cheese cools faster then the sauce does.
