It seems like everyone is doing a steam in a bag meal these days. This new meal is from Lean Cuisine. But instead of serving multiple people its a meal for one. Will it be worth the extra money? The Frozen Food Master reviews this product, shows you how it looks, tells you how it tastes, and gives you the lowdown in this episode of Freezerburns.

The Impulsive Buy tried the Chicken Alfredo version and had a less than stellar opinion of it.

Something that has a vent? People on Dirty Jobs have used the term vent on a few occasions but I won't say what for.

Anyway, this Lean Cuisine meal. I am a bit disappointed that the amout of food isn't any higher in this meal at all because a lean cuisine meal never really satisfies me for a full meal. If I am looking to buy a frozen meal, I would consider it at this price, but I probably won't seek it out. I probably won't get the oppurtity to buy this anytime son anyway since it seems like local stores take forever to get new stuff in.

One thing you never commented on tastewise was the veggies? Did they have any substance to them still when they were cooked or were they just mush?

Greg I know you're not Italian like me but you have to pronounce some of these food correct.Tortelloni would be pronouced like this.Torteleeeenie.Not loni, but leenie.Or like the first name in the product, lean.Same thing for when you say Mozzarella.Just change the beginning to a moose sound.Think bootz with a z,but use Mozz instead.Don't worry we'll try to get you speaking half Italian soon.LOL!!Keep up the good reviews man.

Greg since you love shrimp, any chance you could review Lean Cuisine's Lemon Garlic Shrimp dinner?I haven't tried it yet,but I really respect your reviews on products.I thought I might take a shot on asking you to review it.Please?Pretty please?I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Tony, But Tortellini and Tortelloni are two different types of pasta! I may be wrong but I am pretty sure I pronounced it correctly!

  • freezerburns

  • freezerburns

Thanks for the suggestion Kelly. I'll see what I can do.

  • Aslkas

Greg you are correct. They are two different things and I trust that you can read a package correctly!

    Actually he's right Mr. Burns.But that's how Italians pronounce it,not everyone else.Just like Ricotta is pronounced with a g in Italian,not a c.And the same goes for Manicotti.No c,a g.Basically they're pronounced with a gaught sound.Like saying the word caught,but using a g instead.

OMG!I hate eating italian food around italians. My girlfriend's family is from Sicily and they always try to correct me at sunday dinners all the time. And especially around christmas too.I just pronounce it the way I want to,and they always try to correct me.It's embarrassing.Maybe I need to take some italian classes.Care to join me Greg?LOL!

Hey Greg is there any chance you might review Lean Cuisine's Angel Hair Pomodoro dinner?I keep hearing from alot of people that it is pretty good and that the sauce is amazing in it too.

  • Jillie

Toretlloni and tortellini are 2 different things

I tried another of these “pasta in a bag” meals from Lean Cuisine, the chicken margherita. I had a problem w/ the pasta & chicken both coming out hard on some of the edges. Not chewy, but almost crunchy. This is my only Lean Cuisine bag experience, so I’m wondering if it’s the way the food sits in the bag. Otherwise the meal was pretty good, flavorful, but rather salty. I’d give it a 3.

And Greg’s right, tortelloni & tortellini are different, -oni is a bigger version of -ini.

I think these Lean cuisine steam meals are a wash. Tasteless in my opinion.
