Thanks! I saw those at the store but didn’t buy them. :) For baked potatoes: cheese, butter, salt & pepper is good!

Love the concept of the hot pocket snackers but I am with you on the doughy ickyness. Maybe if they were baked in the oven instead of the microwave they would be crisper?

As for what I like on my baked potato? If its a side, a bit of butter,Black pepper and sour cream. if its for a meal, topped with chili and cheese and onions or BBQ pork

    Broccoli and Cheese. Mmmmmm. ^.^

    hahah size of a beetle…
i wonder if these would be better in the oven (if you can cook it that way).
regardless, i dont think id try these. that ingredient list is SO LONG!!
my fav baked potato is cheese & broccoli, or garlic and butter. mmm. so craving a baked potato now…

Butter, crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese.

I don’t know about these. It always make me a bit suspicious whenever I see a product coated with faux potato skins. It’s hard for me to see how they managed it without destroying the nutrition in the food or use some type of food coloring to get the effect.

These might be better baked as the dry heat from the oven may overcome the sogginess he found on the inside.

Great review.. Is there any chance you can review the new Digiorno Pizza and Cookies?? I just saw a commercial for it and I think it would make a good review.

Nicole, That’s been reviewed. Search in the sidebar.

Does a really good baked potato really *need* anything else at all? I usually prefer them “as is”.

Did not have high expectations for these Hot Pockets. New marketing gimmick, but in the end, it’s… still a Hot Pocket. It’s hard to expect much from Hot Pockets; they rarely exceed my low expectations. (I know, however, that “rarely” is not the same as “never”… I’ve heard good things about the “Side Shots” line although I haven’t tried them myself, and my best friend really likes the “Culinary Creations” line of Lean Pockets.) As for these “Snackers”, I doubt I’ll be going out of my way to try them.

The two things that scare me on eating this which scares me about eating alot of foods nowadays is the Partially Hydrogentated Oils and Trans Fats in them.By the way do you think you might review Tastee Choice Micro Cuisine Shrimp Marinara With Linguini meal at all?I keep hearing they’re really good and the shrimp are a decent size, but they’re kind of pricey.

    thank you!

My favorite way to have a baked type potato would be to have it twice baked. Basically you scoop out the insides of the potato, mix it with sour cream and maybe some chives and bacon, then stuff it back in the skin and top it with cheese.

I tried these the other day actually and wondered when you’d sample them. I thought they were pretty decent actually, but like you I wouldn’t have know they were supposed to be baked potato without the name on the bag. I agree they weren’t crispy, but I wouldn’t have called the crust soggy either. Dismissing the whole baked potato thing, I thought they were good. It makes for a nice change of pace from the standard hot pocket. I think that maybe hot pockets is trying to get into the Totino’s Pizza Roll type market with these where you can just pop them in the microwave on a (paper) plate for a quick easy snack. To be honest, I’d take these of the Totino’s Pizza Rolls any day

i’ve had these. and i was SURPRISED how they kinda sucked. i was mad at myself that i ate something so bad. i watch waht i eat but once a week i let myself go nuts, and this just made me feel bad. i love “loaded potato skins”. this was not so good man

    thanks for this entertaining review

They certainly weren’t my favorite. I’d rather have potato skins. Although, if you want them crispy, bake them in some sort of oven(I baked them in a pizza oven 8min low and 4min high and they were nice and crunchy on the outside. The microwave RARELY makes a crispy crust(Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie is crispy out of the microwave).

I deep fried them.  *HEAVEN!*  I’m sorry, I know it’s fatty stuff lol, and it kills anything which might have been good in them to begin with, but I’m drunk and it sounded like a good idea.  WOW!  Yum :)  I liked them ok in the oven, they were less soggy than in the micro, but then at Christmas, someone bought us a fryer.  So, I’m frying everything (Oreos in pancake batter ftw, and I’m not even stoned anymore!).  Anyway, I’ll work it off hiking these desert hills lol, but for the moment, yum! ♥

  • Jenn

I love these! Definitely bake them, I’ve never tried the microwave but 15 mins on a cookie sheet isn’t that difficult and they come out crispy…and then the best part dip them in sour cream! Yumm…great idea hot pockets!
